About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct preliminary screening and article selection from literature searches
  • Extract data from studies for reports and prepare and present research findings
  • Draft and revise reports and protocols, including supplemental issues
  • Review, edit, and proofread draft reports for content
  • Prepare and review tables and ensure data accuracy
  • Monitor Medicare policies, national Medicaid research and demonstration projects, program innovations, and alternative financing and service delivery models
  • Research assigned topics using state library resources, archives, collections, federal and state laws, and other reliable sources
  • Follow current academic research publication guidelines, such as APA guidelines
  • Develop and maintain program policies and procedures
  • Develop policy language for Medicaid federal authorities
  • Direct corrective action plans for program and policy improvements
  • Coordinate grant proposals and documentation for demonstration and experimental programs
  • Direct development and promulgation of program-related rules
  • Coordinate planning materials for annual and five-year plans
  • Track and monitor routing, approval, and implementation of federal policies
  • Provide technical assistance on service/program operations, policies, and procedures
  • Present data and service/program information accurately
  • Advise management on improvements or concerns and recommend solutions
  • Identify and document training needs
  • Prepare presentation materials
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement statewide program training plans
  • Design, prepare, and evaluate training programs and materials
  • Conduct statewide and local trainings
  • Represent the Agency at meetings, conferences, workshops, and seminars
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Three years of professional experience with program planning, research, and evaluation
  • Three years of professional experience with systems and management analysis
  • Three years of professional experience with research and demonstrated application of research skills
  • Three years of professional experience implementing and managing complex projects
  • Three years of professional experience serving as a lead or assistant on a major research project
  • Knowledge of social, economic, health, or rehabilitative services objectives
  • Knowledge of methods of data collection and analysis
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data
  • Ability to organize data into logical formats for reports and other written materials
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to travel with or without accommodations
  • Successful completion of State and National criminal history background screening before employment
  • Subject to reasonable suspicion drug testing
