About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist RSIIs, RSIIIs, GAIs, and GAIIs with complex questions related to health care practitioner license maintenance
  • Process license renewals, license certifications, practitioner profile updates, and Department of Revenue suspensions and reinstatements
  • Assist with inbound chats and review conversational insights as part of the department’s ELI chat team
  • Assist with initial license, renewal, and miscellaneous fee deposits
  • Assist the Team Lead with training new and existing employees on fee-deposit processes
  • Act as Delegated Authority when the Supervisor and Team Lead are out of office
  • Provide verbal and written direction, technical assistance, and guidance to licensed health care practitioners regarding license renewal, issuance, disciplinary actions, administrative suspensions, and license verifications
  • Conduct complex research in the department’s licensing database to respond to complaints and inquiries from the public, applicants, licensees, and DOH staff
  • Conduct independent analysis of post-licensure inquiries returned by the contracted vendor
  • Review licensure certification requests and validate processing fees
  • Conduct fee transactions in LEIDS and produce certification letters, including no-pay transactions for exempt customers
  • Verify licensure data including original licensure dates, expiration dates, birthdates, education history, Social Security numbers, and home addresses
  • Report major corrections to the supervisor
  • Perform other related projects and duties as requested by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2-years of Customer Service Experience by way of handling inbound calls and/or chats
  • Minimum of 2-years processing Licensure or Renewal applications
  • Ability to interpret and apply the continuing education and financial responsibility rules of multiple Healthcare Profession Boards
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, public facing setting
  • Ability to understand and explain statutes, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to deal effectively with people
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices
  • Ability to organize and multi-task
  • Working knowledge of word processing, email, and spreadsheet software
  • Must be willing to physically come into the office to perform duties
  • Current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
  • Ability to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English
  • Successful completion of required security background check and/or drug screening
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional office environment, manage periodic interruptions, work within a confined workspace, and remain seated at a computer workstation for extended periods
  • Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962 must meet Selective Services System registration or exemption requirements
