About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to and assist the Regulatory Supervisor/Consultant and Program Operations Administrator on the Advanced Processing Team
- Coordinate workflow as Regulatory Specialist III team lead
- Process, evaluate, and determine eligibility for complex CNA, LPN, RN, and APRN licensure applications
- Apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies, and procedures applicable to the Board of Nursing
- Compile documentation and prepare summaries, packets, and conference call agendas for board review
- Draft Microsoft Word summaries and Notices of Hearing
- Compile and manage confidential Adobe Acrobat PDF packets, including redaction and document rearrangement
- Correspond with applicants regarding deficiencies, application status, concerns, additional information, statutes, and processing procedures
- Verify licensure statuses and disciplinary actions or open cases through NURSYS or applicable state websites
- Notify the Background Screening Unit regarding files requiring board review
- Monitor and process files returned from the Background Screening Unit, update statuses, approve files, or prepare files for board review
- Process exemptions from disqualification and issue approval or notification letters
- Process incoming documentation, Livescan screenings, mail, and email inquiries
- Record documentation in applicant files within one business day and maintain electronic licensure filing systems
- Ensure database licensure information accuracy and report data-entry or vendor errors
- Monitor conditionally approved files and Conditional/Active licenses
- Audit and process files within established timelines
- Send approval and denial letters to the Clerk’s Office and applicants
- Draft Notices of Termination after completion of probation or conditions
- Serve on the board’s training team and develop desk guides, PowerPoint presentations, and the annual training plan
- Provide group training presentations and guidance to preceptors assigned to new staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be physically present in the office to effectively perform job duties and responsibilities

- Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals and consumer protection
- Ability to provide consultative assistance to others
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English
- Successful completion of required security background check and/or drug screening
- Must complete Form I-9 and pass E-Verify employment eligibility verification
- Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962, must meet Selective Services registration or exemption requirements
- May be required to perform emergency duty before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days
