About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform varied and complex professional and regulatory activities for the Boards of Osteopathic Medicine, Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, and the Council of Licensed Midwifery, primarily focusing on Massage Therapy and Midwifery
  • Exercise independent judgment and initiative while completing assignments under the supervision of the Program Operations Administrator
  • Evaluate applicant qualifications for licensure in accordance with statutory and rule requirements
  • Obtain supplemental information to determine eligibility for licensure, certification, or registration
  • Serve as subject matter expert for massage establishment applications
  • Process initial and change of name and location applications for massage establishments
  • Process applications in the LEIDS licensing database and issue correspondence regarding deficiencies or approvals
  • Process supplemental documentation, prepare documents for scanning, and prepare refund forms
  • Analyze and recommend solutions to application deficiencies and qualification issues
  • Respond to public inquiries by telephone, email, and in writing
  • Provide regulatory answers, application status updates, and licensing-process directions
  • Update applications in LEIDS following additional review by other sections or units
  • Prepare application files and supporting documentation for Board, committee, or council review
  • Review application-processing reports and audit applications for required actions
  • Review expiration, background screening, and inspections reports and update application statuses
  • Identify potentially deniable massage establishment applications, prepare documentation, and notify management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be physically present in the office to effectively perform job duties and responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of Florida Statutes and Rules governing licensing and regulation
  • Ability to compile, organize and analyze data
  • Ability to investigate, analyze, and resolve complaints
  • Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals and consumer protection
  • Ability to provide consultative assistance to others
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be able to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English
  • Successful completion of a security background check and/or drug screening
  • Must complete Form I-9 and satisfy E-Verify employment eligibility verification
  • Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962, must be registered with the Selective Services System or have a Letter of Registration Exemption
  • May be required to perform emergency duty before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days
