About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise and lead a team of seven employees, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, scheduling, leave approval, timesheet approval, and disciplinary actions
  • Manage daily workflow for the Board of Nursing Administrative Support Team
  • Ensure timely and accurate handling of phone, email, and chat inquiries, mail processing, and administrative functions related to licensure and board operations
  • Monitor customer service performance, including call volume, wait times, staffing coverage, and quality of telephone and email responses
  • Ensure calls are answered within the established five-minute maximum wait time
  • Oversee Board meeting and agenda support, including agenda materials, meeting notices, minutes, member records, attendance, and website updates
  • Coordinate Probable Cause Panel meetings, including scheduling, communication, telephone conference participation, and documentation of minutes
  • Maintain compliance with applicable statutes, policies, procedures, and departmental standards
  • Serve as a Balanced Scorecard owner for timely preparation and posting of board/council meeting minutes
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations to direct reports
  • Document performance discussions and implement corrective action when necessary
  • Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, effective communication, and adherence to policies, procedures, dress standards, and deadlines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be physically present in the office to effectively perform job duties and responsibilities
  • Ability to compile, organize and analyze data
  • Ability to investigate, analyze, and resolve complaints
  • Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals and consumer protection
  • Ability to provide consultative assistance to others
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be able to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English
  • Security background check and/or drug screening required
  • Participation in direct deposit required
  • Successful candidate must complete Form I-9 and employment eligibility verification through E-Verify
  • Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962, must meet Selective Services System registration or exemption requirements
