About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report directly to the Chief Legal Counsel for the Motor Vehicles Unit in the Office of General Counsel
- Represent the Department in virtual hearings related to vehicle ownership
- Prosecute administrative actions related to car dealership regulation
- Prepare pleadings, including administrative complaints and settlements
- Attend hearings incidental to these cases
Requirements
What you’ll need- Applicant responses to qualifying questions must be clearly stated within the employment history
- Software systems, actual work experience, and years of employment must be clearly defined
- Proficiency in civil and administrative litigation preferred
- Excellent writing and communication skills preferred
- Knowledge of Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, and federal laws, rules and regulations preferred
- Ability to identify complex problems, evaluate resolution options, and implement solutions preferred
- Ability to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards preferred
- Level 2 background check and CJIS clearance, including fingerprint-based FBI criminal records check
- Valid driver's license
- Must be a member of The Florida Bar in good standing
- Travel, including overnight travel, may be required
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker
- No employment sponsorship for work visa status, CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT
