About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provides leadership, direction, and oversight for the agency’s information technology operations, services, infrastructure, and personnel
  • Leads, manages, and develops IT staff by establishing priorities, assigning work, monitoring performance, and supporting professional development
  • Develops IT strategies, technology roadmaps, modernization plans, policies, procedures, standards, and operational practices
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and recommends solutions to improve efficiency, reliability, security, and service delivery
  • Oversees administration, maintenance, configuration, patching, monitoring, and lifecycle management of infrastructure, systems, endpoints, networks, cloud services, and IT assets
  • Oversees Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint, endpoint management, and identity and access management
  • Uses remote monitoring and management tools for endpoint monitoring, software deployment, patch management, remote support, alerting, maintenance, and asset management
  • Oversees IT support services, escalates complex technical issues, establishes service standards, and supports agency personnel
  • Leads technology planning, project prioritization, budgeting, procurement, vendor evaluation, contract support, and lifecycle management
  • Provides information security and risk-management oversight, including incident response, audits, assessments, remediation, compliance, and CJIS requirements where applicable
  • Provides IT leadership during outages, emergencies, incidents, activations, and other non-routine events
  • Supports disaster recovery, business continuity, Continuity of Operations (COOP), system restoration, recovery, and after-action reviews
  • Evaluates, implements, integrates, upgrades, migrates, and supports business applications and specialized software
  • Prepares reports, recommendations, presentations, documentation, and other materials for agency leadership
  • Performs other duties and administrative responsibilities assigned by agency leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a related field
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in information technology, information systems, infrastructure, systems administration, IT operations, or a related field
  • A combination of education and professional or non-professional experience may be considered in accordance with applicable State of Florida requirements
  • Demonstrated experience leading, supervising, or managing IT personnel and technical teams
  • Demonstrated experience administering or supporting Microsoft cloud and endpoint management technologies, including Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems administration, networking, endpoint management, user support, software applications, and information security principles
  • Experience planning, evaluating, procuring, implementing, and supporting technology solutions
  • New employees must pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • New employees must participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program
  • Ability to provide documentation verifying minimum qualifications
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a related field
  • Preferred experience in government, public safety, military, or highly regulated environments
  • Preferred experience with enterprise technology planning, IT procurement, vendor management, and contract administration
  • Preferred experience developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Entra ID, and related Microsoft technologies
  • Preferred professional IT certifications, including ITIL 4 Foundation, AZ-104, MS-102, MD-102, CompTIA Network+, Security+, or A+
