About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in planning and implementing seminars and workshops for training programs
  • Prepare lesson plans, program guides and evaluation tools
  • Conduct formal in-person and virtual classroom instruction, seminars, workshops and training courses
  • Support training planning, logistics and setup
  • Assist with needs assessments, gap analyses, surveys, competency assessments and performance assessments
  • Analyze assessment data and provide information or recommendations
  • Act as backup for employee enrollments and troubleshooting calls with the department Learning Management System
  • Create training support materials and activities based on research and industry trends
  • Research, create and procure training materials, including certificates, flyers, folders, presentations, online course content and booklets
  • Distribute training materials and manage subsequent communications
  • Participate in staff conferences and curriculum development
  • Develop and improve training programs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of professional or nonprofessional experience in training, education, staff development, personnel or an agency program area; or
  • Bachelor's degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of professional experience in training, education, staff development, personnel or an agency program area; or
  • Master's degree (6 years) from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience
  • Valid Class E driver license
  • Occasional travel required
  • Ability to plan, organize and support program activities
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced teamwork environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to manage general office needs and activities
  • Ability to work beyond a normal eight-hour day when necessary
  • Ability to carry, load, transport and set up audio/visual resources, classroom materials and other items weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Competency in Articulate Storyline, Articulate Presenter, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Presenter, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Intermediate to advanced skill with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, SharePoint and Outlook
  • Experience with WebEx, Citrix or other virtual meeting software
  • Skill preparing, editing and proofreading written materials
  • Successful completion of background screening, including fingerprinting
  • Honest and authentic responses during evaluation and selection stages
