About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the primary financial partner for assigned country offices and provide strategic financial support throughout the programme and funding lifecycle.
  • Lead the financial review and development of proposal budgets, budget narratives, cost allocation methodologies, and donor submissions.
  • Provide financial expertise during Go/No-Go decisions by assessing funding opportunities, risks, cost recovery, and operational feasibility.
  • Monitor the financial performance of portfolios through budget-versus-actual analyses, financial forecasting, and pipeline tracking, while recommending necessary corrective actions.
  • Support country offices in preparing multi-year budgets and funding forecasts to identify funding gaps and growth opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations, internal policies, and financial procedures related to grants, funding, and partnerships.
  • Contribute relevant financial analysis to portfolio reviews, country programme discussions, and funding management processes.
  • Support audits, risk mitigation actions, grant close-outs, and follow-up on audit recommendations.
  • Strengthen the capacity of country teams through training, mentoring, and coaching on donor compliance, financial management, and grant budgeting.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in programme finance, grant management, and donor funding within international NGOs.
  • Strong knowledge of donor compliance, budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting.
  • Good understanding of the financial requirements of major institutional donors.
  • Experience supporting Finance teams and collaborating with Programme, Grants, and Partnerships teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks and improve financial performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial management systems; knowledge of Oracle NetSuite is an advantage.
  • Fluency in Arabic is an advantage.
