About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deal with large numbers of customers every day
  • Provide direct client service in Motor Vehicle/DMV offices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a customer or client service role that includes significant public contact AND regular use of computer programs; OR six (6) months or more of work experience in the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to process large sums of money
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must agree to be finger-printed and pass a background investigation, which may include criminal, financial, and traffic records checks
  • Ability to administer road and written tests in inclement weather
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and manage unpredictable workloads
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to deal with confused, frustrated, and highly upset customers
  • Ability to travel to other offices with minimal notice
  • Private means of transportation may be required
  • Overtime work may be required
