About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess security needs and design tailored systems to mitigate threats
- Install, maintain, and repair security equipment
- Install, maintain, and support card access systems, CCTV surveillance cameras, intrusion alarms, remote video door intercoms, network and standalone servers, and other security devices
- See security projects through from start to finish
- Collaborate directly with tenants to protect employees and facilities
- Work in office and field settings across approximately 150 state buildings
- Attend meetings as a Department representative when required
- Respond to emergency calls outside regular work hours when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Three (3) years or more of experience in building maintenance, or installing/repairing electrical or security systems
- Experience installing or repairing security cameras, badge readers, and/or alarm systems
- Ability to interpret schematics and blueprint design
- Experience providing oversight for construction or maintenance projects
- Experience with cost estimates, cost analysis, and project monitoring
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry and climb a 6-foot ladder
- Successful completion of state and federal criminal background checks
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to climb ladders, lift weights up to 75 pounds, and work in cramped, wet, or poorly ventilated areas
- Ability to respond in a calm and professional manner to harassment or hostile behavior
- Ability to work outdoors and inside buildings, including correctional facilities
- Ability to travel considerably
- Ability to respond to emergency calls outside of regular work hours
