About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Modern Disability Claims program
- Write clean, well-documented code for data pipeline development and maintenance
- Assist with exploratory data preparation and cleansing of claims and healthcare data sources
- Support senior engineers in identifying and fixing bugs in existing ETL/ELT pipelines
- Learn and apply debugging and troubleshooting processes for data pipeline issues
- Perform basic data quality checks under senior team guidance
- Document data workflows and processes
- Participate in code reviews
- Learn the team's domain, codebase, schemas, and MDC data systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must hold, or be able to obtain, a Public Trust clearance; an active Secret or Top Secret clearance also satisfies this requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0-3 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related field
- Familiarity with Python and SQL
- Willingness to learn ETL/ELT concepts and cloud-based data platforms
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn
- Ability to work collaboratively and receive feedback/mentorship from senior team members
- Coursework, internship, or project experience involving data pipelines or data engineering preferred
- Exposure to Pandas, Git, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) preferred
- Familiarity with healthcare or claims data a plus
