About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Understand needs in collaboration with business areas and other teams, including the context, business rules, and expected value
Translate business needs into technical solutions and data models
Develop data transformations using Databricks, PySpark, and SQL
Model, build, and evolve data in the Lakehouse, contributing to the Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers of the medallion architecture
Structure curated, integrated, and reliable data for different consumption needs
Define and implement transformation rules, relationships, granularity, keys, and model structures
Build and evolve reusable datasets and analytical models
Assess data quality, consistency, and reliability
Develop business analyses and support insight generation
Build and enhance dashboards and visualizations in Power BI
Work closely with technical and business teams
Keep activities, progress, decisions, and blockers up to date in Jira
Participate in the team’s Scrum ceremonies and practices
Use asynchronous communication to document relevant context, decisions, and alignments

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience with Databricks
Experience with PySpark
Experience with SQL
Experience with data modeling
Experience with data transformation and data preparation
Knowledge of Data Lake/Lakehouse environments and medallion architecture
Knowledge of data quality and reliability
Experience with Power BI and data visualization
Experience with exploratory analysis and business analysis
Knowledge of Scrum and agile ways of working
Preferably based in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, or the surrounding area
Availability for a hybrid work arrangement, including on-site presence at the CAS once a week
Autonomy, organization, and strong communication skills
Nice to have: previous experience in the insurance industry; knowledge of insurance products, processes, or KPIs; experience in roles combining Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Visualization; ability to move comfortably between business needs, data analysis, modeling, and technical implementation
