About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Configure and manage backup policies
- Perform daily monitoring of backup and restore jobs
- Handle backup-related failures and incidents
- Administer NetBackup servers (Master, Media, and Clients)
- Manage storage (disks, tapes, deduplication, MSDP)
- Plan and execute recovery (restore) tests
- Update and apply platform patches
- Prepare compliance and capacity reports
- Provide support for audits and data retention requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced proficiency in Veritas NetBackup administration and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Foundational knowledge of TCP/IP networking and SAN/NAS storage architecture
- Experience with VMware and Hyper-V virtualization environments
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud environments
- Experience integrating with Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases
- Ability to automate routines using PowerShell, Shell scripting, or Python
