About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer, configure, and support mission-critical security and telecommunications environments, working with platforms such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, and related technologies
- Implement, maintain, and enhance information security solutions, including NGFW firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPNs, antivirus, antispam, web filtering, and other protection controls
- Administer and troubleshoot TCP/IP network environments, covering Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, routing, switching, and high availability
- Perform the physical and logical configuration of network equipment, including IP addressing, subnets and masks, gateways, VLANs, static and dynamic routing, NAT, security policies, and network topologies
- Proactively monitor environments, analyze logs, troubleshoot issues, identify security incidents, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Administer and maintain up-to-date technical documentation, network diagrams, asset inventories, communication flows, and operating procedures
- Execute changes in production environments in accordance with IT governance, incident, problem, and change management processes, while meeting established SLAs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience with NGFW firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, or similar)
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, STP, VLAN, VRRP, DHCP, DNS, and NAT)
- Knowledge of Site-to-Site VPN and Client VPN technologies (IPSec and SSL VPN)
- Experience with high-availability (HA) environments
- Knowledge of monitoring and log analysis tools
- Experience with advanced network and security troubleshooting
- Experience working in data center environments and critical infrastructure
- Knowledge of ITIL and IT governance processes
- Preferred certifications: Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, Fortinet NSE/FCP, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, Cisco CCNP Enterprise or Security
- Knowledge of Palo Alto Panorama
- Experience with WAF
- Familiarity with SIEM solutions (Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel)
- Knowledge of Cloud Security (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
