About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act strategically throughout the software development lifecycle by applying the Shift-Left Testing approach and actively participating in requirements refinement and solution design
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test architectures covering functional, regression, integration, and API testing
- Develop and execute automated tests using tools such as Rest Assured, Cucumber, and similar technologies
- Validate REST and SOAP APIs, ensuring compliance with architectural standards, development best practices, and security requirements
- Perform complex backend validations, including SQL queries, data validation, and testing of messaging and event-processing systems
- Integrate and maintain automated test execution in CI/CD pipelines, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of software delivery processes
- Serve as a technical reference in software quality by sharing knowledge and supporting the team's technical growth
- Analyze quality metrics and indicators, identify bottlenecks, and propose continuous improvements to the squad's development and testing processes
- Work collaboratively with development and product teams, contributing to defect prevention and the delivery of high-quality solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Solid experience in backend and API test automation
- Proficiency in at least one programming language used for test automation, such as Java, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Practical experience with automated testing of REST and SOAP APIs
- Knowledge of automation tools and frameworks such as Rest Assured, Cucumber, or similar technologies
- Experience with continuous integration and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases for querying, validation, and data consistency checks
- Ability to analyze complex scenarios, identify the root causes of failures, and propose technical solutions
- Experience with software quality best practices and defect prevention strategies throughout the development lifecycle
