About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead Stepful College’s Strategy and Operations function across Nursing, Imaging, and Respiratory degree programs
Evolve the operating model across Schools led by Operations Directors in partnership with Clinical and Academic Leaders and Faculty
Set strategy to deliver degree programs at high quality and scale
Build operating cadence enabling School Leads to operate independently while managing the full degree-program portfolio
Own department budget and resource allocation across schools and geographies
Design the department’s organizational structure and determine leadership layers and senior hires
Lead, coach, and set performance and accountability expectations for Operations and Clinical Leaders
Partner with Learning, Product, Legal, Growth, and Workforce Solutions to grow enrollment and improve student experience
Meet the needs of healthcare employer partners
Drive AI adoption across schools
Report to the SVP, Operations
Travel regularly to campuses and clinical sites

Requirements

What you’ll need

12+ years of experience, including 5+ years leading multi-layered organizations (managers of managers) in operations or program leadership
Track record of owning a department or business unit, including its strategy, budget, and org design, and scaling it through significant growth
Experience leading regulated, licensure-track education programs, including direct work with state boards and accreditors
Proven ability to drive workflows across multiple domains and build operating systems that let leaders move independently
Executive communication skills, including clear, concise writing and ability to align executives, regulators, faculty, and employer partners
Highly analytical, data-driven approach to diagnosing problems and making decisions
Comfort leading in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment, with willingness to get into details when needed
Genuine curiosity about AI and habit of experimenting with it to improve team workflows
Experience at a high-growth startup or venture-backed healthcare or EdTech company is a bonus
Clinical background, such as RN or registered radiologic technologist, is a bonus
Experience running multi-state or multi-campus operations, launching campuses, or integrating acquired schools is a bonus
Advanced degree, such as MBA, MSN, or EdD, is a bonus
Willingness to work in-office 3 days/week in NYC, Tuesday through Thursday
