About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Communicate with the assigned customer base as the single point of contact and build relationships
  • Work with internal departments and analyst teams to balance capacity and freight
  • Solicit additional freight opportunities to eliminate empty miles when necessary
  • Research and remedy service issues daily
  • Track and trace shipments and provide superior service with on-time performance of 95% or better
  • Relay excess load availability to Brokerage and Rail divisions
  • Review EDI data for accuracy before releasing verifications to customers
  • Maintain close oversight of internal activities affecting service obligations
  • Maintain key carrier performance indicators
  • Navigate customer requests, including last-minute requests within supply chain delivery timelines
  • Manage bookings and resolve delayed pickup/delivery and billing issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or transportation operations
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel functions
  • Ability to handle high volumes of inbound/outbound email
  • Understanding of capacity and network
  • Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Ability to service multi-million-dollar accounts and support new and existing sales opportunities (preferred)
  • Expertise in specific KPI contract details per client and awards (preferred)
  • Some familiarity with AS/400 operating system (preferred)
