About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review, negotiate, and execute commercial contracts with Sales and Partnerships, including customer, reseller, referral, strategic partnership, vendor, amendment, and NDA agreements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and Product teams
  • Own and continuously refine contract playbooks and negotiation guardrails, including fallback positions, escalation thresholds, and approval authority
  • Help build Stord’s contract management infrastructure, including template libraries, workflow tools, and process documentation
  • Advise Sales and business teams on deal structure, contract negotiations, and risk assessment
  • Serve as the legal point of contact for Sales and Partnerships teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve contract management processes and standardize operations
  • Address internal inquiries regarding contractual questions, obligations, and compliance
  • Stay current on commercial, intellectual property, privacy, and compliance issues
  • Provide day-to-day legal advice and develop business-centric strategies that mitigate risk while enabling business growth

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of commercial transaction experience in the ecommerce or logistics space
  • Experience negotiating, drafting, and resolving issues for commercial contracts, including warehousing and logistics contracts
  • Demonstrated business judgment and ability to provide practical, risk-balanced advice
  • Ability to ramp quickly and take ownership of a contract portfolio in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort with legal technology, including AI-assisted contract review tools and CLM platforms; Ironclad experience is a plus
  • J.D. from an accredited law school required
  • Membership in at least one state bar required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Comfort building and refining processes and structure
  • Logistics experience and in-house experience preferred
  • Experience with warehouse liens, bailment law, or UCC Article 7 preferred
  • Familiarity with FMCSA broker regulations, transportation law, or logistics compliance requirements preferred
  • Experience with data privacy agreements, technology contracts, or software licensing arrangements preferred
