About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in managing daily parts department operations, including sales, inventory control, ordering, receiving, and expense management.
  • Support department goals, budgets, forecasts, and profitability initiatives.
  • Monitor inventory levels, shortages, and backorders; expedite parts through alternate sourcing when needed.
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping and audit-ready parts processes.
  • Assist with vendor relationships and purchasing activities.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, safety, and outstanding customer service.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and training to parts team members.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and development of department personnel.
  • Provide customer service in person, over the phone, and through electronic communications.
  • Help customers identify, research, and purchase John Deere and other equipment parts and accessories.
  • Maximize parts and aftermarket sales opportunities and resolve customer concerns.
  • Support promotions, marketing initiatives, and sales campaigns.
  • Receive, stock, organize, and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Recommend inventory adjustments and assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and annual audits.
  • Maintain organized parts displays, showroom merchandising, warehouse storage, and clean, safe facilities.
  • Collaborate with service, sales, operations, technicians, and service personnel to ensure timely parts availability.
  • Support company initiatives and collaborate across locations when needed.
  • Assist with parts deliveries, equipment pickup, and other operational support.

Requirements

What you’ll need

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks with accuracy and focus.

  • Proficient with computers, spreadsheets, and budget creation; comfortable using business systems.
  • 3+ years of parts department management experience with a track record of meeting performance goals.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and occasionally climb while performing inventory, stocking, and counter activities.
  • Requires use of hands for computer, phone, and handling parts or equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs., and occasionally heavier items with assistance.
  • Requires close vision for reading part numbers, labels, and computer screens; hearing ability sufficient for communication in person, over the phone, and in active work environments.
  • Must be able to work in office, warehouse, and shop environments, including exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Ability to travel to company locations or vendor sites as needed.
  • Successful applicants must complete a background check, including criminal history and a drug screening, prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required for certain positions.
  • Dealership experience preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
