About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete maintenance and repairs on equipment ranging from small engines to agricultural machinery
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards
- Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Make necessary repairs accurately and effectively
- Engage with customers to explain repairs, provide updates, and answer questions
- Complete work assignments in the shop and field environments
- Follow direction from the Service Manager or Shop Foreman
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and properly care for tools and equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2–3 years of experience as a mechanic working on small engines, diesel and gas engines, and small hand-held components
- Proven ability to assemble, perform maintenance, and execute basic diagnostics on equipment
- Must own and maintain a complete set of professional tools
- Basic computer skills for diagnostic and documentation purposes
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate documentation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules and respond to after-hours calls as needed
- Professional, customer-focused demeanor with strong service skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful applicants must complete a background check, including criminal history and a drug screening, prior to starting employment
- For certain positions, a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and parts up to 50–75 lbs., and occasionally heavier with assistance
- Must be able to work in shop, outdoor, confined-space, and elevated-area environments
- Must be able to safely operate company vehicles, forklifts, and other equipment
- Ability to travel to company locations, customer sites, or job sites as required
