About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support instructional faculty by interacting with students in online classrooms with many students
  • Analyze student activity in discussions and assessments and respond according to training and lead instructor input
  • Assist in managing student communications
  • Escalate unique issues to the lead instructor
  • Assist with grading and provide feedback
  • Monitor student engagement and recommend ways to increase engagement
  • Provide tutoring, live sessions, and other student support as directed
  • Conduct student outreach as directed
  • Develop supplemental support documents, videos, and job aids as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work a defined number of hours per week and report to key Faculty roles within the designated team
  • Support the Online undergraduate HIS110 class for the upcoming fall quarter starting October 5th

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Masters Degree in History required, OR Master’s degree in any related discipline with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter hours of graduate course work in History required
  • Professional certification in discipline specialty, if required by course credentialing requirements
  • Professional experience in the field of study may be required depending on course credentialing requirements
  • Previous teaching experience preferred
  • Online teaching experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective interaction with faculty, coaches, and learners
  • Effective time management skills
  • Relationship-building, customer service, and problem resolution skills
  • Strong attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through
  • Experience working with diverse learning styles
  • Comfort using technology to facilitate learning
  • Ability to access information using a computer
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout the management chain
  • Ability to cope effectively with stressful situations
  • Good attendance
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong mental acuity
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
