About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and assess IT risks, including cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps
- Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the impact and likelihood of identified risks
- Analyze data related to IT security incidents, breaches, and vulnerabilities
- Develop and implement risk mitigation plans
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to design and implement risk controls
- Monitor compliance with IT regulations, standards, and frameworks including GDPR, FERPA, FFIEC, HIPAA, NIST, and ISO 27001
- Assist with developing and maintaining IT policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Participate in security incident response, investigation, and remediation
- Prepare and present reports on IT risks, vulnerabilities, and mitigation efforts
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Assist in developing and delivering IT security awareness programs
- Provide employee guidance and training on risk management procedures and policies
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions
- Participate in evaluating and implementing technologies and tools for risk assessment and mitigation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 to 5 years in a similar role
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field required
- Understanding of IT risk management principles, cybersecurity concepts, and industry standards
- Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies, vulnerability assessment tools, and security frameworks
- Experience with security incident response and familiarity with security tools and technologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work across different teams and departments
- Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise
- Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location may be required based on role
- If offsite or hybrid, access to a suitable remote work setting with privacy, reliable internet, phone, and video conferencing
- Must be able to meet critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication aspects aligned to job duties
- Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant
- Able to access information using a computer
- Preferred/advantageous certifications: CISSP, CRISC, CISM, or CISA
