About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage medium to extra-large complexity projects through the full project life cycle using appropriate methodologies and tools
- Plan and communicate project activities and acquire, develop, and manage project teams
- Deliver project scope and objectives, change management, risk mitigation, budgeting, stakeholder communication, vendor engagement, subject matter expert utilization, implementation, and project closure
- Develop and manage project status reports and communicate key metrics through the PMO dashboard
- Implement change management practices according to agency and PMO guidance
- Forecast, manage, and acquire resources needed to achieve project objectives
- Ensure project activities and deliverables adhere to federal, state, or agency guidelines
- Facilitate and manage contract processes from initiation to closure
- Perform gap analysis and root cause analysis and provide recommendations for successful project outcomes
- Lead group facilitation activities for the agency, particularly where interaction with an independent party is required
- Direct, coordinate, implement, execute, control, complete, and close Oklahoma State Department of Health projects under PMO guidance
- Serve as a primary contact for agency resources and activities throughout assigned project life cycles
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience with Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid project management methodologies
- Strong familiarity with and/or the ability to use MS Project
- Understanding and experience with the Project Management Institute's (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide and Standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and multi-tasking capabilities
- Well-organized and detail oriented
- Ability to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per work week, with additional onsite days depending on project requirements
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
