About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Nurture and expand strategic client relationships within the merchandise and clothing industry
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of key accounts
- Maintain proactive client communication through face-to-face meetings, video calls, and phone calls
- Develop tailored account plans aligned with client needs and priorities
- Serve as a trusted advisor and provide consultative merchandise and clothing solutions
- Meet or exceed sales targets and goals for key accounts
- Sell company offerings to existing clients while tracking spend and margin performance against budget
- Execute phone-based sales, selling conversations, quotation follow-ups, and sales opportunity maximisation
- Prevent unnecessary Business Development engagement with already-converted clients
- Support negotiation and retendering of contracts and agreements
- Ensure contracts and agreements are adhered to and renewed
- Grow the sales pipeline through consistent lead-measure activity
- Use Quote Handover and Order Handover processes
- Prepare reports on key account performance, sales forecasts, and activity
- Analyse account performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and improvements
- Collaborate with Account Executives, Marketing, Business Development, Commercial, and Warehouse teams
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
- Review product mix and propose relevant changes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experienced Key Account Manager
- Commercially astute
- Experience managing and growing high-value client portfolios
- Experience in merchandise and clothing, or relevant client industries including universities, legal, financial and professional services
- Ability to build and nurture strategic client relationships
- Consultative sales and solution-selling capability
- Ability to meet weekly target of 10–20 connected phone calls
- Ability to meet weekly target of 3–8 completed meetings
- Experience logging client interactions and sales pipeline in HubSpot
- Ability to meet or exceed sales targets and account goals
- Experience tracking client spend, budgets, and margin performance
- Experience executing phone-based sales and following up quotations
- Contract negotiation, retendering, renewal, and compliance experience
- Ability to analyse account performance data
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams
- Knowledge of industry trends and best practices
