About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Direct and coordinate educational, administrative, and counseling activities of students
  • Ensure educational programs conform to state and local school board standards
  • Research and implement non-K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards as needed
  • Manage teaching and administrative staff, including Master and Lead Teachers and programs
  • Articulate the school’s mission and vision and promote cooperative work among stakeholders
  • Use communication technologies and practices supporting a predominantly virtual/remote work environment
  • Confer with teachers, students, and parents regarding educational and behavioral problems
  • Coordinate with teachers and K12 Enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals
  • Ensure the school meets student needs while complying with local, state, and federal laws, including special education laws
  • Develop and oversee implementation of the school’s Academic Improvement Plan

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • North Carolina Administrative Certification required
  • Must reside in North Carolina
  • Master's degree in business, education, or related field of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of educational experience
  • One year of supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to clear required background check
  • Demonstrable leadership, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
  • Web proficiency
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Experience as an online/virtual educator
  • State License as a School Administrator
  • Experience working with the proposed age group desired
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology desired
  • Experience teaching in an online/virtual and/or brick-and-mortar environment desired
  • Experience with online learning platforms desired
