About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct and coordinate educational, administrative, and counseling activities for high school students
- Ensure educational programs conform to state and local school board standards
- Research and implement non-K12 curriculum resources meeting state standards as needed
- Articulate the school’s mission and vision and promote stakeholder cooperation
- Use communication technologies to support a predominantly virtual/remote work environment
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding special education and categorical programs
- Address student attendance and engagement compliance with students, families, courts, and local districts
- Develop and oversee implementation of the Student Achievement Improvement Plan
- Supervise and evaluate teaching staff
- Manage teacher performance and provide professional development training
- Manage Master and Lead Teachers and programs
- Confer with teachers, students, and parents regarding educational and behavioral problems
- Coordinate with teachers and K12 Enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals
- Directly supervise 15–30 FTE regular employees and/or contractors
- Interview, hire, train, assign, direct, evaluate, reward, and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Florida 5 Year Professional Educational Leadership Certificate
- Florida residency required
- Previous supervisory experience
- Master’s degree and five (5) years of educational experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to clear required background check
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
- Web proficiency
- Ability to travel 20% of the time for meetings, professional development, etc.
