About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain and update student compliance records within the Student Information System
  • Review, collect, verify, and process required student residency documentation
  • Monitor student records for missing, incomplete, or expired documentation and obtain required information
  • Ensure records are accurate, current, and compliant with state, federal, and organizational requirements
  • Generate reports and track compliance metrics using the Student Information System and other software tools
  • Communicate with families, school staff, and external agencies regarding documentation requirements and record discrepancies
  • Assist with audits, state reporting, and internal compliance reviews
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and records in accordance with FERPA and organizational policies
  • Support enrollment and records management processes
  • Identify and resolve data entry errors and record inconsistencies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • No supervisory responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ohio resident preferred
  • Applicants from a surrounding state within one hundred miles of the Ohio border may be considered; border states include Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana
  • Must be able to meet travel requirements
  • Must be willing and able to obtain Ohio Certification
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related administrative, records management, compliance, or data-entry experience required
  • Experience working in a school environment preferred
  • PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS) experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; knowledge of Excel preferred
  • Ability to analyze records for accuracy and completeness
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Ability to learn and navigate multiple database systems and software applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through electronic communications
  • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
  • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday
  • Typically available during 9-5 (or 8-4) hours, or as defined by the school
