About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver specific French course content in an online environment
- Provide synchronous and asynchronous instruction, support, and guidance
- Manage the learning process and personalize learning for students
- Monitor student progress through Stride K12's learning management system
- Communicate regularly with students and parents/learning coaches
- Differentiate instruction based on student mastery
- Augment course content using approved asynchronous and synchronous tools
- Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity
- Make student placement and promotion decisions
- Alert administrators to student performance and progress concerns
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
- Support parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting
- Travel approximately once per month or 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and other school requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- French teaching certification for grades 8-12
- If certification is from another state, obtain Indiana reciprocity within 60 days of employment
- Indiana residency required
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday
- Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum
