About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver specific high school math course content in an online environment
- Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process
- Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery
- Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
- Monitor student progress through Stride K12's learning management system
- Maintain the grade book and make student placement and promotion decisions
- Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families
- Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting
- Travel as required, on average once per month or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and school functions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Required Math (7-12) state teaching certificate/license
- Texas residency requirement
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday
- Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
