About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver specific high school English course content in an online environment
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
- Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery
- Augment course content using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under principal and coach guidance
- Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
- Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity
- Make student placement and promotion decisions
- Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families
- Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
- Collaborate with teachers to interpret student data and use it to drive instructional decisions
- Participate in required travel for professional development, student testing, and other school functions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- Active Oklahoma state teaching license / Oklahoma High School English Teaching Certification
- Ability to clear required background check
- Must reside in Oklahoma
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday
- Ability to work school hours, typically 9–5 or 8–4, or as defined by the school
- Ability to travel as required, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time
- Experience working with the proposed age group
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
- Experience teaching online and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
- Experience with online learning platforms
- Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
