About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Direct and coordinate educational, administrative and counseling activities of students personally or through subordinate supervisors
  • Ensure educational programs conform to state and local school board standards through evaluation, development and coordination
  • Research and implement non-K12 curriculum resources that meet state standards as needed
  • Manage teaching and administrative staff, including Master and Lead Teachers and programs
  • Articulate the school's mission and vision and support cooperative stakeholder relationships
  • Use communication technologies and practices supporting a predominantly virtual/remote work environment
  • Confer with teachers, students and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems
  • Coordinate with teachers and K12 Enrollment regarding expulsions and withdrawals
  • Ensure the school meets student needs while complying with local, state and federal laws, including special education laws
  • Develop and oversee implementation of the school's Academic Improvement Plan

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • South Carolina Department of Education Academic Administrator and Special Education Certification required
  • Must reside in South Carolina
  • Master's degree in business, education or related field of study and five (5) years of educational experience and one (1) year of supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to clear required background check
  • Demonstrable leadership, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) and web proficiency
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Experience as an on-line / virtual educator
  • State License as a School Administrator
  • Experience working with proposed age group
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
  • Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or brick-and-mortar environment
  • Experience with online learning platforms
