About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver specific middle school science course content in an online environment
- Provide synchronous and asynchronous instruction, support, and guidance
- Personalize and differentiate learning based on student mastery
- Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
- Maintain the grade book and student academic integrity
- Make student placement and promotion decisions
- Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and learning coaches/parents
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
- Augment course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools
- Travel approximately once per month and/or 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and school functions
- Collaborate with administrators, coaches, teacher trainers, and other teachers to support student outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- Active state teaching license
- Oklahoma Elementary OR Science Certification required
- Must reside in Oklahoma
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday
- Ability to work school-defined hours, typically 9-5 or 8-4
- Experience working with the proposed age group
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
- Experience teaching in an online/virtual and/or brick-and-mortar environment
- Experience with online learning platforms
- Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
