Associate Installation Technician
Stryker. Perform on-site physical installation, functional testing, and quality inspection of surgical light suspensions, surgical booms, video integration systems, and ancillary equipment .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform on-site physical installation, functional testing, and quality inspection of surgical light suspensions, surgical booms, video integration systems, and ancillary equipment
- Confirm site readiness, pre-installation requirements, infrastructure, and equipment inventory
- Install surgical light suspension systems, surgical booms, video integration systems, associated cabling, room cameras, and video monitors
- Program, test, and inspect video integration sources according to design specifications
- Perform functional and quality checks and document results before project sign-off
- Maintain accurate records of equipment installations and related activities
- Complete daily update reports and administrative responsibilities
- Provide project updates to stakeholders and coordinate with Quality on regulatory and operational compliance
- Coordinate and book travel arrangements and manage daily schedules for timely installation completion
- Maintain stakeholder relationships and provide basic operational training to customers
- Manage assigned tools and equipment inventory
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries and service requests
- Communicate project status and progress updates to customers
- Communicate lessons learned and feedback to cross-functional partners
- Adhere to customer-facility and Stryker safety policies and standards
- Complete PPE training and advocate safe work practices
- Maintain current product, quality, and process standards through Stryker’s Learning Management System
- Partner with sales, project engineering, project management, field service, electricians, plumbers, general contractors, and hospital perioperative staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required
- 0–2 years related technical experience (telecom, video/audio system installation, electrical/construction, medical device, hospital biomed)
- 0–2 years technical experience or comparable skill set
- Must interpret, understand, and install equipment according to complex wire diagrams and CAD drawings
- Must understand infrastructure, electrical, and network requirements of installable equipment
- Ability to learn basic Internet Protocol (IP) and computer networking requirements
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Intermediate PC and application skills
- Ability to operate small hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
- Must maintain a state-issued Driver’s License and safely operate a motor vehicle
- Must be able to travel via commercial airline
- Must lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently
- Must use ladders, chain hoists, material lifts, and pallet jacks
- Must climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and work above ceilings
- Must have corrected near visual acuity, color vision, mobility, bending, standing, stooping, and finger dexterity
- Must communicate effectively via cell phone, text, and email
- Must work effectively in a fast-paced, independent environment and exercise good judgment
- Must analyze and resolve non-routine testing and equipment issues
- Must read, navigate, and comprehend installation and technical manuals and project documents
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
