About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish, maintain, and expand relationships with strategically selected private-sector UK accounts
  • Support divisional growth and profitability through strategic account objectives
  • Maintain business within high-touch accounts and develop new business in selected accounts
  • Serve as primary contact for C-suite, supply chain, procurement, contract managers, clinicians, and other key stakeholders
  • Create pricing proposals, conduct consultative selling and business-to-business negotiations, execute contracts, and optimize agreements
  • Collaborate with Stryker divisional teams to share strategies, conduct business reviews, contract across portfolios, protect price, evaluate profitability, and grow market share
  • Develop relationships with decision-makers and coordinate internal sales activity
  • Develop creative solutions, value-based procurement positioning, and cross-divisional value propositions for Stryker's product and service portfolio
  • Collaborate with Government Affairs, Market Access, Health Economics, and European COE functions
  • Support the Director, Enterprise Accounts with regional business expansion projects
  • Develop and monitor strategic account plans for enterprise accounts, outpatient surgical centres, and new hospital builds
  • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations and support long-term contracts and contractual negotiations
  • Identify external partnerships and design bespoke value propositions
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews and strategy meetings
  • Run and understand financial models for cross-divisional offerings
  • Develop annual account reports and monitor contract compliance
  • Track monthly progress against goals using SWOT analysis
  • Assist sales with supply-chain issues, sales acceleration, and customer loyalty
  • Resolve account-wide issues and supply-chain concerns
  • Delegate tasks involving contract activation, price changes, orders, and invoice payments
  • Gather market data, provide industry analysis, and maintain knowledge of market trends, competitors, products, customers, and Stryker offerings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years in a commercial role (strategic selling, key account management, commercial operations, business development, marketing)
  • Proven business acumen and success within the medical device industry and ideally experience of the Private Sector
  • Ability to be successful and achieve results through others who are not direct reports
  • Proven ability to influence internal senior level stakeholders
  • Ability to negotiate skilfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups, facilitating win/win solutions
  • Deep understanding of customer purchasing process and contract/tendering processes and mechanisms
  • Solid understanding of Sales & Marketing strategies and commercial acumen to drive growth
  • Strong financial experience; able to read a P&L and assess customer financial offerings
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the country's medical economy
  • Knowledge of a CRM system preferred
  • Computer skills, MS Office
  • Presentation skills with modern presentation media
  • Valid UK drivers licence
