About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently design and develop electrical components and subsystems for medical devices
- Develop and apply advanced circuit and electrical system test methods
- Conduct or design advanced prototyping and testing
- Conduct advanced problem solving and evaluate solutions against component and subsystem requirements
- Conduct and design research and studies supporting advanced product design
- Analyze and correct complex product design issues using independent judgment
- Balance design tradeoffs while designing system components
- Handle multiple project streams in a fast-paced, collaborative setting
- Work regularly with Product Development, Production, and Contract Manufacturers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, Electrical Engineering or related
- Experience with schematic and PCB layout using Allegro, OrCAD, Gerbers, or similar
- Ability to review datasheets for critical design specifications
- Ability to effectively edit technical documentation
- Preferred: Experience with PLC design for input/output modules, including sensors, switches, meters, relays, valves, and drives
- Preferred: Ability to lead and mentor other Engineers
- Creativity and resourcefulness when faced with unforeseen challenges
- Self-starter and curious-minded, able to find resources needed to accomplish tasks
- Ability to articulate precisely and succinctly in correspondence with business units, vendors, and manufacturing
