About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Product Safety Programs for complex sustainability projects within Product Engineering
  • Ensure safety requirements are integrated throughout product development
  • Collaborate with leadership and influence technical and organizational safety initiatives across business units
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with U.S. and international electrical and mechanical safety standards, regulations, and certifications
  • Direct safety testing activities by supporting laboratory personnel and developing test plans
  • Ensure compliance testing meets third-party certification requirements
  • Collaborate with external certification bodies, including NRTLs, to achieve and maintain product certifications
  • Provide Product Safety technical education, mentorship, and frameworks for early-career Product Safety Engineers
  • Promote product safety, compliance, and industry best practices across engineering and design teams
  • Resolve complex safety challenges, support product lifecycle activities, consult on compliance issues, and shape future technology roadmaps

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering degree
  • 4+ years of engineering experience
  • Prior experience leading Product Safety Programs for complex R&D projects, ensuring safety requirements are integrated throughout product development
  • Understanding of IEC standards and compliance or related regulatory compliance standards
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Competence with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Intermediate expertise in product design theory and application for electrical hardware and architecture, microcontrollers, microprocessors, wireless technologies, embedded systems, and familiarity with mechanical components and products
  • Experience working with IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, IEC 60529, IEC 61000 Series, UL 746C, IEC 61010-1, and ISO 17025
