About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the network-wide recruitment and selection strategy across school-site and Home Office roles
  • Build robust candidate pipelines and active talent pools, prioritizing hard-to-fill instructional and leadership roles
  • Design fair, inclusive, and bias-aware selection processes
  • Refine recruitment messaging, candidate communications, and digital attraction channels
  • Build strategic partnerships with universities, placement agencies, and organizations including the Marshall Teacher Residency
  • Analyze Applicant Tracking System and other recruitment metrics, evaluate funnel performance, and report insights to senior leadership and the Board
  • Audit, build, and scale hiring tools, technologies, workflows, and interview protocols
  • Manage the Manager of Recruitment & Selection through goal setting, coaching, performance development, and role alignment
  • Coach hiring managers and school leaders on talent planning, inclusive selection, and structured interviewing
  • Lead change management for recruitment system updates, interview protocols, and hiring-practice changes
  • Partner with People Operations and Home Office leaders on onboarding, retention, and talent-management initiatives
  • Deliver professional development and workshops on recruitment best practices, retention strategies, and bias mitigation
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A true passion for Summit Public Schools' mission
  • 5+ years of progressive talent acquisition and recruitment experience
  • Proven track record of designing, building, or scaling recruitment systems
  • 1+ years of direct people management highly preferred
  • K-12 education experience, particularly working with or supporting school site leaders, highly preferred
  • Ability to travel across Summit school sites and attend recruitment events across the San Francisco Bay Area and Washington state when required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and Google Workspace
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Must meet all health clearance requirements
  • Must successfully pass reference, background, and criminal history checks in accordance with applicable Education Code requirements
