About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute the organization’s HR strategy in alignment with business goals, growth plans, and operational priorities
  • Lead and develop the HR function, establishing priorities, standards, and measurable objectives
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, interviewing, selection, hiring, onboarding, development, retention, and offboarding
  • Direct the day-to-day operations, workflow, and service delivery of the HR department
  • Partner with senior leadership and operational leaders on workforce plans and talent strategies
  • Establish, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives
  • Manage employee relations matters and ensure appropriate documentation and legal compliance
  • Lead labor and union relations, including collective bargaining agreements, grievances, contract compliance, disciplinary matters, and union communications
  • Oversee the workers’ compensation program, including injury reporting, claims administration, and coordination with insurers and administrators
  • Identify talent needs and develop recruitment, selection, succession, and talent management strategies
  • Analyze HR trends and workforce metrics using HRIS and other systems
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Monitor industry trends, employment law, and HR technology and implement improvements
  • Develop and manage the HR department’s annual budget
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required
  • At least five years of human resource management experience required
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment, including collective bargaining, grievance resolution, contract administration, and labor relations
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and applicable employment laws
  • Demonstrated experience leading HR operations in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment
  • Bilingual communication skills, with proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • Strong employee relations and conflict-resolution skills
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop HR professionals, managers, and operational leaders at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze HR data, workforce trends, and metrics
  • Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, benefits, and other HR technology and systems
  • Strong understanding of recruitment, talent management, performance management, employee engagement, and workforce planning
  • Ability to develop, implement, and communicate HR policies, procedures, training programs, and initiatives
  • Strong business acumen
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments, locations, and levels of the organization
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to meet the stated physical, mental, environmental, and technical demands, including lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 250 lbs.
