About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Organize publicity and artist team relationships for films, events, artists, and Institute programs showcased at the Sundance Film Festival
  • Serve as the main publicity touch point between film/project teams and internal departments
  • Facilitate key assets workflow and handle incoming publicity-related inquiries
  • Oversee press lines onsite at the Festival
  • Coordinate with media on coverage of Festival-curated programs
  • Liaise with publicity, film, and artist teams to compile publicity information and maintain the Festival database
  • Draft media materials, project communications, and information
  • Collaborate on press announcements; organize and proofread project information; manage external and internal review processes
  • Act as the main point of contact for external teams representing Festival projects
  • Gather details, coordinate film-premiere logistics, and collaborate on press-line execution
  • Lead press lines and photo calls onsite and manage press participation at assigned events
  • Coordinate press-line materials for media
  • Manage media and support volunteers onsite
  • Participate in media outreach on program themes
  • Provide information, interviews, and resources; receive and route inbound media requests
  • Track media coverage and screening reports for assigned films and artists
  • Inform external teams of film/project updates and key details
  • Secure materials needed to publicize assigned films and events
  • Complete a comprehensive written wrap report

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • 2 years experience in public relations, media relations, communications, or special event publicity
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate and work effectively with a variety of people
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize with strong time management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Working knowledge of databases
  • Proficiency in Google Products preferred
  • Experience with large event public relations and knowledge of film and the film industry preferred
  • Ability to work full time (40 hours per week) from Wednesday, November 4, 2026 to Tuesday, February 2, 2027
  • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work remotely out of an operating state, then work in Boulder, Colorado in January for in-person Festival elements
