About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform advanced troubleshooting and complex service diagnosis
Train and develop other Field Performance team members
Organize, lead, and maintain the warranty and service schedule
Allocate labor resources to service and warranty projects with the Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor, and Branch Manager
Assist with training and development for Field Service Technicians and Field Communications Technicians
Lead regular meetings to align and train the local field service team on best practices
Support onboarding and training of new Field Performance team members
Exceed field performance KPIs, including turnaround time, experience rating, and average dispatches completed
Assist with inspections and site audits when assigned
Follow company safety policies and procedures and identify and report safety hazards
Establish rapport and build relationships with internal and external customers and coworkers
Meet deadlines and key metrics while working independently and collaboratively
Troubleshoot issues, exercise judgment, escalate problems appropriately, and follow up with customers

Requirements

What you’ll need

Valid state or local Electrical Journeyman license, Electrician Certification, or equivalent per local and state requirements (e.g. wireman license)
3+ years of previous field construction experience
At least 1 year of experience as a service technician in the solar industry
High School diploma
Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards
Working knowledge of current NEC codes
Ability to interpret single-line drawings and PV systems from roof to meter
Knowledge of electrical principles related to solar interconnection/tie-in and PV system operation
Understanding of interconnection activities and basic construction principles
Proven customer service track record
Strong computer skills
Ability to transport materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
Ability to work on rooftops, ladders, at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying outdoor weather conditions
Ability to distinguish colors including red, black, yellow, white, and green
Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate protections
