About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare, submit, and approve utility interconnection applications through Permission to Operate
- Manage utility relationships and requirements throughout application review
- Review plansets and resolve discrepancies with Design and Engineering
- Resolve utility comments and delegate remaining issues to Operations, Engineering, and Sales
- Own assigned interconnection pipelines from application submission through Permission to Operate
- Record task progress and maintain project schedules in software systems
- Obtain customer signatures and organize project documentation
- Coordinate with internal teams on program requirements, corrections, outages, fees, rebates, and payments
- Identify pipeline efficiency opportunities, process improvements, requirement changes, and risks
- Resolve internal and external escalations
- Support policy-related outreach and analyze interconnection/incentive pipeline trends
- Monitor automation tools and service-level-agreement timelines
- Serve as subject matter expert on assigned markets’ interconnection and incentive requirements
- Build utility relationships and maintain a database of utility requirements and timelines
- Perform additional assigned tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in renewable energy
- Demonstrated understanding of NEC, CBC, utility handbook, and AHJ requirements
- Knowledge of interconnection processes and experience working with utilities preferred
- Exposure to commercial PV design and installation processes preferred
- Ability to read and understand plan sets
- Ability to work autonomously and escalate issues to upper management as needed
