About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive profitable organizational growth through development and execution of SunSource’s acquisition strategy
  • Collaborate across Sales, Marketing, Legal, Human Resources, Finance, and other functions to identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities
  • Evaluate acquisition targets in Fluid Process and adjacent markets
  • Assess strategic fit, competitive positioning, supplier relationships, end-market exposure, and value-creation opportunities
  • Manage the full transaction process, including relationship development, deal negotiation, acquisition due diligence, and integration activities
  • Lead or participate in post-acquisition performance management and management review sessions
  • Apply M&A best practices to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and develop creative transaction-structuring solutions
  • Develop business-case rationales and integration action plans with leadership
  • Prepare and deliver executive presentations and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Directors
  • Lead cross-functional teams through due diligence and integration planning
  • Conduct market research on business segments, product adjacencies, and geographic expansion opportunities
  • Manage the internal M&A pipeline and screen potential acquisition candidates
  • Develop financial valuation models and perform scenario analysis

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or sales is preferred
  • 3–5 years of buy-side experience identifying target companies and initiating buy/sell processes in Mergers and Acquisitions
  • 10+ years of experience within Industrial Distribution, with demonstrated experience in Fluid Process or related industrial technology markets
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient internet research skills using relevant tools, applications and services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time
  • Must be home based within reasonable proximity to a major airport
