About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee supply planning and operational execution across a growing portfolio of consumer wellness and supplement brands.
- Manage product flow from demand planning and purchase orders through manufacturing, quality release, warehousing, and fulfillment.
- Monitor inventory, sales velocity, open orders, projected stock coverage, and demand forecasts by SKU.
- Identify potential stockouts and maintain healthy inventory levels while managing working capital.
- Prepare, submit, track, and reconcile purchase orders.
- Serve as the primary operational contact for contract manufacturers and key suppliers.
- Monitor production, escalate delays, and coordinate production priorities, launches, reformulations, and product transitions.
- Own brand-side quality and compliance decisions, including product release, holds, disposition, investigations, corrective actions, traceability, and recall readiness.
- Apply dietary supplement cGMP requirements, including 21 CFR Part 111, to supplier oversight and outsourced manufacturing.
- Review quality documentation, testing, labels, packaging, claims, version control, and final artwork approvals.
- Coordinate packaging artwork and maintain approved artwork, specifications, proofs, and production records.
- Manage the relationship with the third-party logistics provider and monitor receiving, inventory accuracy, fulfillment, damages, backorders, and shipping exceptions.
- Analyze fulfillment, parcel, freight, packaging, and accessorial costs and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Maintain reliable inventory, purchase order, production, receipt, and balance records.
- Report on stock coverage, at-risk SKUs, open orders, delivery commitments, and purchasing needs.
- Create scalable operational processes and documentation.
- Report directly to the CEO with no direct reports.
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 4 years of experience in supply chain, operations, purchasing, production planning, inventory management, logistics, or a related role.
- Direct experience managing both contract manufacturers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate sales and inventory data into purchasing decisions.
- Experience creating and managing purchase orders and reconciling them against receipts and invoices.
- Familiarity with dietary supplement cGMP requirements under 21 CFR Part 111 and the quality responsibilities of a brand that outsources manufacturing, including label compliance, product release, traceability, and recall readiness.
- Sound judgment and willingness to own quality and compliance decisions, document the basis for decisions, and involve qualified expertise when needed.
- Strong project-management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
- Comfortable working across several internal teams and external partners in a globally distributed team.
- Strong spreadsheet skills and the ability to learn inventory, ERP, accounting, and warehouse systems.
- Availability to work 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with some flexibility.
- Experience in supplements is strongly preferred; prior experience in a regulated product category is not required.
