About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and operate high-throughput production services powering AI agent orchestration, connector integrations, and real-time data pipelines
Design and build core platform services, including task schedulers, session and conversation history, client-server protocols, and APIs connecting the AI engine to product surfaces
Work across the Superhuman product suite, including Go, Mail, Docs, and Enterprise
Collaborate with ML/AI, Product, and Front-End engineers to ship AI-powered features end to end
Build and evolve infrastructure as code for high availability across consumer and enterprise customers
Contribute to documentation, testing, and reliability practices
Mentor and grow junior engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in back-end development
Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and system design
Experience building, deploying, and debugging production systems at scale
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure
Comfort working with AI-powered systems, including infrastructure for LLM-based features, agentic workflows, or ML pipelines
Fluency with AI coding tools such as Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code
Experience with real-time systems, event-driven architectures, or high-throughput API design is a plus
Deep understanding of CI/CD and infrastructure as code
Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple projects
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong product instincts and ability to make tradeoffs between speed and reliability
