About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support robust server platform hardware design and development
- Perform schematic capture, circuit design, component selection, design-rule checks, and BOM checks
- Review PCB component placement, routing, signal integrity, and power integrity results with PCB layout and SI teams
- Perform hands-on board bring-up, signal verification, function testing, and design validation testing
- Use software tools across multiple operating systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Support debugging of production and customer issues
- Provide technical documentation and support to contract manufacturers and production departments during product sampling and production
- Create and maintain BOMs, test procedures, validation reports, and issue-tracking logs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering; master’s degree preferred
- 0–2 years of hardware development experience focusing on board-level design
- Experience on server boards is a plus
- Solid knowledge of circuit design and computer architecture
- Hands-on proficiency with schematic capture and EDA design tools, such as Cadence Allegro Design Entry HDL, OrCAD Capture, or Altium Designer
- Comprehensive knowledge of PCB layout, debugging tools, and software
- Practical laboratory test and measurement skills using digital oscilloscopes and current probes
- Familiarity with I2C, SPI, and UART management interfaces and buses
- Basic knowledge of DC-DC power converters and OVP, OCP, and UVP protection circuitry
- PCIe high-speed signal design knowledge
- Outstanding problem-solving and strong debugging skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to new technologies
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Effective verbal and written technical communication skills
