About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop new or existing opportunities in the global IT market
Work with customers from ground level to executive level
Manage projects collaboratively with internal and external teams
Map end-user customer business and partner requirements and provide optimized technical solutions
Provide technical leadership in pre-sales and oversee solution implementation
Diagnose hardware and software interaction issues and perform basic hardware debugging
Lead product hardware and software engineers during product development
Lead teams during investigation and resolution of field problems
Develop and review system solutions, technical bid responses, and presentations
Work cross-departmentally to ensure customer satisfaction and timely issue resolution
Build and demonstrate proof-of-concepts meeting or exceeding customer business needs
Present corporate brand, product messaging, and solutions to customers
Visit on-site facilities and operations for solution integration and issue resolution

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline; computer science, computer engineering and electrical engineering preferred
Excellent communication skills and business sense required
10+ years of experience working with tier-1 customers and partners in the South Africa region
Minimum 5 years of related experience with Compute/Storage Server, Data Center, or IT Infrastructure experience desired
Strong background and experience with x86-based server architecture
Solid hardware system design and diagnostics skills
Familiarity with firmware, Linux, Windows, and virtualization platforms is a plus
Strong technical communication and leadership skills to lead investigations with engineers of multiple disciplines
Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
Fluency in English and a local language required; other languages are a plus
