About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead technical collateral development for in-house embedded system products
Define and implement data center and server technologies
Create proof of concepts and technical feature paper presentations
Differentiate Supermicro products through online publications and industry events
Serve as the subject matter expert for application benchmarks in networking, databases, and virtualization
Apply knowledge of CPUs, DRAM, flash-based storage, and motherboards to develop and integrate embedded system products and solutions
Execute benchmark testing and build proof of concepts based on data center technologies and Supermicro embedded products
Work with product managers and system engineers to draft technical marketing presentations and white papers
Research new technologies and products to propose new proof of concepts
Work with Sales, FAE, and customers to provide networking solutions and technical knowledge

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong knowledge in server architecture, including PCIe, SATA, and SAS protocols
Strong knowledge of OS concepts; knowledge in distributed computing is a plus
Experience configuring Windows Server, Ubuntu, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Experience with scripting languages including PowerShell, Linux Shell, C/C++, and JavaScript is strongly desirable
Strong knowledge of server hardware and architectures, including PCI Express and out-of-band management
Experience in technical writing and good communication skills
Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred/optional
Minimum 5 years of system engineering experience in embedded hardware products is preferred/optional
Regular attendance at customer sites as needed
