About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist development of mechanical products by studying customer requirements and applying engineering principles to design bezels, brackets, chassis, and related products
  • Evaluate mechanical design of chassis and servers using principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials
  • Design testing methods and test sample and finished products to assure product quality
  • Confirm manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes
  • Assist the product manager with product planning, product design, development support, regulatory compliance, and product lifecycle management
  • Solicit and collect new requirements for Supermicro chassis and server products
  • Work with other departments to ensure chassis/server platforms are effectively leveraged throughout the product portfolio
  • Assist the product manager in coordinating cross-functional sustaining support, including RMA, failure analysis, and ECO implementations
  • Provide documentation and technical know-how for chassis/server product lines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Material Engineering, or other relevant engineering field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of system or mechanical engineering experience is desirable
  • Experience in configuring computer systems
  • Familiar with Windows Server and Linux operating systems
  • Solid background in mechanical engineering
  • Experience in ProE and CAD design
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
