About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and facilitate discovery workshops with clients and cross-functional teams
- Gather requirements, define project scope, and uncover client needs
- Identify Shopify limitations and propose workarounds or third-party integrations
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities aligned with client objectives
- Suggest infrastructure and process optimisations based on industry trends and best practices
- Act as the primary client contact during discovery
- Understand client objectives, target audience, pain points, and constraints
- Present proposed solutions, including final discovery playbacks
- Translate client requirements into detailed technical specifications and solutions
- Design scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performance architectures
- Oversee technology stack, framework, and platform selection
- Create architectural blueprints, integration diagrams, and data flow diagrams
- Prioritise MVP features and identify Phase 2 opportunities
- Provide direction and support to design and engineering teams as Discovery Lead
- Review and validate technical deliverables
- Lead exploration of new technologies and innovative approaches
- Monitor Shopify updates and emerging functionalities
- Support sales scoping, pitches, and presentations
- Facilitate handover from discovery to design and development
- Provide ongoing delivery-phase consultation and support
- Address post-implementation performance issues and customisation requests
- Maintain long-term client relationships through continuous improvements
- Collaborate with business leaders, project managers, and technical teams
- Produce and maintain comprehensive discovery and scope documentation
- Develop training materials and deliver technical training sessions
- Lead internal handovers into Growth Accelerator retainers
- Oversee Wrike blueprint and task setup processes
- Provide cost breakdowns and oversee technical solution estimates
- Balance innovation with budget constraints and optimise resource allocation
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and lead problem-solving
- Maintain quality standards and improve discovery processes
- Create at least two thought leadership pieces annually
- Represent Swanky at industry events, conferences, and external engagements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Senior-level experience translating client requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Strong technical expertise and business acumen
- Experience aligning technical solutions with clients’ strategic goals, motivations, and budgets
- Experience leading discovery workshops and technical discovery sessions
- Experience with Shopify capabilities, limitations, updates, releases, and emerging functionalities
- Experience with front-end systems and third-party tool integrations
- Experience designing scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performance solutions
- Experience evaluating and selecting technology stacks, frameworks, and platforms
- Experience creating architectural blueprints, systems integration diagrams, and data flow diagrams
- Experience defining MVP scope and prioritising features according to business goals and budget
- Experience providing technical leadership to design and engineering teams
- Experience with pre-sales, client pitches, and presentations
- Experience producing requirements specifications, architecture diagrams, configuration guides, roadmaps, user personas, and user flows
- Experience with cost estimation, resource allocation, risk management, and mitigation strategies
- Exceptional written and presentation communication skills
- Ability to create at least two thought leadership pieces annually
- Ability to participate in industry events, conferences, and external engagements
